  • 121 Studios 123 Dundas Street, London Ontario N6A 1E8 | Canada (map)

Join us for a lecture-recital with Christina Willatt & pianist Susanne Murphy, as part of 121 Studios’ Public Lecture Series.

 Free Admission.

This recital-style lecture will explore the early origins and twentieth-century trajectory of classical art song for piano and voice. The classical art song is a live performance tradition marked by intimate settings and poetic text expression. In the twentieth century, classical art song is characterized by a balance of experimentalism and the avant-garde with traditionalism and conventionalism. Soprano Christina Willatt and pianist Susanne Murphy will be performing a selection of international works in German, French, Hungarian, and English.
